gojobs @ 02:06 pm:

Hello, I work for a job board called GoJobs.com.  We are currently undergoing a major site re-design, part of the goal is to allow for easier and more efficient searches.  Part of the strategy for achieving that goal is to break out the jobs based on individual states.  For example:

http://gojobs.com/browse/jobsbystate.aspx?state=ct

If you’re looking for a job in Connecticut, I’d love any feedback you may have to give.  Please check out the site and let me know what you think.  Thanks for reading!

justmeg08 @ 01:28 pm: Looking for good Engineers!!!
Hello, ct_jobs.

I am the Office Administrator for the CT branch office of a New England-wide Civil and Environmental Engineering firm, Wright-Pierce. Right now we have way more work than we have people to do it, and we are loosing two engineers to family moves.

If you are a water, wastewater, or civil engineer and want to work with a client-focused, employee-friendly firm, please let me know!!! We are desperately looking for someone who will be a great addition to our office family.

Comment here or call 8603438297 and ask for Meg.

dizzywolf3 @ 11:17 pm: Asking all those in southern CT with a BA in Psychology (or related):
Excluding human services/direct client care, what places have you found to be most receptive to hiring at entry-level positions (because you know the whole “experience required” catch can be annoying when you try to find something you’d be considered for right out of college)? Monster and CareerBuilder are only helpful up to a certain point…they give the facts and the jobs…I need the personal opinions and experiences from those who have gone for, have, or had these jobs.

Yale does have an abundance of research assistant positions, but those of you with a BA in Psych will know you either want to get into research or you don’t. Research is not my first choice, but beggars can’t be choosers, right?

Places I’ve been made aware of already:

Boys & Girls Village, Inc.
Marrakech, Inc.

mewsicfreak @ 06:41 pm: Looking to start a job
Does anybody have any experience or information on how to get started as a dog walker or an in-home pet sitter? I would love to know how to go about doing this, and whether or not you have to be insured, and if so, how to go about doing it...
I'm very interested in working with animals but I don't want to just jump into things without knowing how it all works. I'd appreciate any feedback on this subject. :-) Thanks.

veenstra168 @ 06:33 pm: Summer Internships
I'm looking for a summer internship around the Hartford area. The type of internship I'm looking for is something in publishing and journalism.

If anybody can point me in the right direction of a company to call, I would be greatly appreciative.

fleur_morte @ 11:32 am: new haven jobs???
Hello. So as of right now I work at a record store in Stamford. Which was fine when I was moving from Yonkers NY, to New Haven. Now that I'm all moved in to New Haven, driving 85 miles a day seems really stupid. Because of driving & working I haven't had too much time to aquaint myself with New Haven. If anyone knows any place that is hiring, please please please let me know. I have supervisor experience in retail. I'd rather work food service (host/waitress/bartender) but I have no experience doing so.

Thanks!
